This article is about the Class III road numbered C8 maintained by Medway Council.
For roads that are numbered C8, see C8

The C8 as Main Road in Hoo

The C8 starts as Main Road at a roundabout with the A228. It heads in an easterly direction towards the village of Hoo, passing a secondary school en route. In the centre of Hoo, at the junction with the C9, the C8 becomes the Stoke Road, and leaves the village to the north east. Passing out into open countryside, the road soon has a roundabout with Ropers Lane - the connection to the A228 for traffic heading towards Kingsnorth power station. The C8 is realigned up until another roundabout, where the road to Kingsnorth leaves.

The C8 as Stoke Road south of Stoke

The Stoke Road continues north becoming narrow and passing over the railway line to Grain. After passing some houses, the road takes a sharp right turn and before it reaches the railway, the road has a .harp left turn. The road then follows a fairly straight north east direction through open fields, before reaching the hamlet of Stoke. The road dog-legs through the village, and leaves as The Street. After a short time, a junction with the A228 is reached, where the C8 terminates.
