The C8 starts at a crossroads on the A89 in Blackridge, with the B718 heading south. It then follows Heights Road as it winds northwards out of the village and past Beechbrae Wood. The C8 turns east to climb up close to the summit of Eastcraigs Hill, then turns north once more as it drops gently down to the Drumtassie Burn. As it reaches the banks of the burn, the route turns away again and slowly diverges, before coming to an end on the C7 at Gowanbank, just south of Avonbridge.
