The C94 maintained by Central Bedfordshire Council began life as the former B557 between Woburn Sands and Husborne Crawley. It was then extended along the former A507 to Ridgmont Interchange when the Ridgmont bypass opened, before being extended to the Bedford Council border along the former A421 when the expressway opened.
