The C99 starts on the B9156, Nethertown Broad Street, opposite the C81 in Dunfermline, and is a continuation of the C81. It runs south along Elgin Street, then Grange Road down the western edge of the town, before briefly passing through some open country to reach Rosyth. Again, following the western edge of the urban area, it becomes Brankholm Brae, before coming to an end at a roundabout on the A985.
