The Caethro Roundabout on the A4085 was built as part of the Caethro Bypass. It is a simple 4 arm junction with the two roads crossing more of less at right angles, and each having a single approach and departure lane. The Caethro Bypass is not, as might be expected, on the A4085, but instead on the minor road which it crosses. This minor road is part of an informal bypass of Caernarfon which connects the A4086 and A4085 to the A487 at Bontnewydd to the west. Even with the opening of the full Caernarfon Bypass on the A487, this route is still reasonably busy with local traffic.
