Carden Avenue Roundabout is a mini roundabout on the A23 in Brighton. The A23 here is a S2, however to the south it is locally widened to a D2 for segregation of right turn lanes before becoming a S3 featuring a bus lane.
NCN20 runs along the A23 here, which gained pained cycle lanes around 2010, however southbound cycle lane turns into the left turn lane for the mini roundabout, while the northbound lane joins the footway around the mini roundabout.
As part of the active travel fund tranche 2, it is proposed for this junction to become traffic signal controlled, with dedicated cycle tracks with their own phases on all three arms, this is due for construction in 2022.
