History
The Cathedral Road Junction opened during 1969, as part of stage I of St Alkmund's Way. When it opened, there was no access to or from the clockwise A601. The junction was significantly altered as an early stage of Connecting Derby during the early parts of the '00s when access was provided to the clockwise direction and the junction was turned into a traffic light controlled one.
