Clonterry Bridge is a concrete bridge which carries a local road over the River Barrow, at Clonterry townland, west of Portarlington on the Laois-Offaly boundary.
The bridge was replaced at a cost of around €400,000 (presumably in the 2010s) with Clifton Scannell Emerson Associates appointed as Employer's Representative and Civil/Structural Engineers.
The original bridge deck consisted of timber boarding on steel girders. The replacement deck was constructed using precast prestressed concrete beams with a reinforced concrete topping. The works involved retaining, cutting back and refurbishing the existing piers in the river.
