Cold Harbour Bridge is a rather boring modern Concrete structure, spanning the River Brue in one go. It is almost identical to Westhay Bridge a couple of miles downstream. However, in this case there is no evidence at all for a previous structure spanning the river. This suggests, particularly as the road is almost ruler straight, that the new bridge is on exactly the same site and was probably constructed with a diversion in place.
Immediately to the west is a junction with a minor road, which follows the rivers western bank as it turns to head south. The B3151 ramps up quite steeply to cross the river, and to the west the level of the water in the river can actually be higher than the road level, making it a rather daunting drive!
