Compton Interchange, also known as Compton Heath Interchange is a dumbell interchange south of Guildford on the A3.
The southbound off-slip leaves the A3 a little to the north of the rest of the junction, with the slip road being the line of the original bypass. Of particular interest is the bridge which carries the sliproad across the Pilgrim's Way, called Pilgrim's Bridge which has two large crosses set in parallel to the road, on either side of the bridge. The bridge was designed by Lutyens in 1931, the crosses were installed on the bridge by command of G F Watts' widow Mary, as the price for building it on the Watts estate[1].
