The Copy Nook Interchange was a planned junction on the urban route of the M65 which was not constructed. It was to have been the eastern end of the Blackburn Inner Relief Route.

The current A678 is on the line of the motorway, as evidenced by the wide verges down one side. These were to be used for a lesser scale improvement that was formally abandoned in the 1990s.
