Crieff Bridge

Crieff Bridge is a 4 arch stone bridge across the River Earn at the southern entrance to the town. The A822 approaches from the south, swinging sharply to the right in order to cross the bridge, which is S2 throughout. The bridge was built in the late 1860s and has all the appearance of a Victorian bridge with contrasting stonework for the arch rings and cutwaters. The four shallow arches are all the same, with the southern three spanning the river and the northern one on the bank as a flood arch. A neat string course runs along above the arches, and below the level parapet which is topped by cast iron lamp columns above each pier.

The current bridge replaced a structure believed to date back to the 1690s, although very little detail is currently known about it.
