Double Hedges Junction was a fork on the A303.
When the A303 was upgraded to dual carriageway, as part of the Amesbury Bypass, in 1969 it was initially still possible to turn right onto the A3028 here, but that gap in the barrier has since been closed and it is now only possible to go from the A3028 to the A303 eastbound.
