Esher Road Interchange was a planned junction on the unbuilt River Mole Route of the A3 Esher Bypass. During the first half of the 1960s two routes were shortlisted for the Esher Bypass. These were the River Mole Route to the north of the town and the Commons Route to the south. The southern route was eventually chosen and built.
