Description:A470, near Dolgellau, Gwynedd

The A470 acts as a bypass for Dolgellau, but actually cuts through the small market town along the course of a former railway along the River Whion. On either side of the town there are short sections of dual-carriageway - where the A494 towards Bala starts, on the eastern side of Dolgellau; and where the A493 starts as it clings to the coast around Cadair Idris on the western side. The photo is taken on the western side looking up the A470 towards Trawsfynydd.
