Description:A trolleybus column?

Behind the security fence at the entrance to the car park of Upminster London Underground Depot is what looks like a Thorn Beta 8 or a GEC lantern of some ilk installed on what looks like a trolleybus column, possibly from the 1950s. Indeed, I think the installation dates back to that time, as I saw a 1959 photo (http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whatson/121.aspx) of this location when the depot first came into action and this installation can clearly be seen there.
