Description:B7078 between Lesmahagow & Happendon Services

This stretch, approx 3 miles long, is the sole remaining D2 section of the old A74. It was among the earliest sections to be bypassed by the M74 (early 80s), so presumably the authorities weren't into the way of singling at that time. The road surface is very worn so is presumably original. It's absolutely deserted and is like stepping back 30 or more years - note no centre barrier, just a grassy mound!
