Description:Former town hall and library, High... (C) Stephen Richards
Formerly of Holborn (the borough of which was abolished in 1965). The library occupied the right-hand section with an oriel and crowned by a shaped gable, and was the work of W. Rushworth, 1894. The whole building is broadly symmetrical, but the remainder came in 1906-08 and formed the town hall. This was the work of Hall & Warwick. A bit French and a bit Flemish/Dutch I think. It is faced in Ancaster and Portland stone. Grade II listed.
There was a restaurant at street level and presumably offices above.
