Description:MRL 6 and Turtle

The CU column is the same age as Morrisons to the left - the road was widened here in 1986 when the store was built. The Turtle replaced a Revo C-something or other post top (similar to those in Wolverhampton from the 70s; see Claire Pendrous' site) in the early 80s. Not many Turtles survive, the majority being replaced with MRL6s (or rarely a Vectra). Before 2001, though, the town centre was definately Turtle-town; the A666 was lit with them entirely from Darwen Street to Barbara Castle Way.
