Description:RAC Telephone Box at the East Anglia Transport Museum This photo shows a blue and white sentry box which were introduced by the Royal Automobile Club during the 1960s to replace the former blue sentry boxes that could be seen on Britain's roads. Originally, this box was located on a lay-by on the A429 Stow Road (Fosse Way) between Cirencester and Northleach, the OS grid reference being SP 060083. The name 'HOLLOW FOSSE' above the door refers to the farm near where the box was sited. There are now no RAC telephones boxes, as far as I am aware, on the roadsides.
