Description:Somerford Bridge over the River Penk, Staffordshire The earlier Somerford Bridge (formerly Stone Bridge), carrying the road from Brewood to Four Ashes over the Penk, was repaired at the expense of the parish in 1605 and at the expense of the county in 1711.

It was rebuilt in 1796 and was described in 1830 as 'old but in good repair'. Somerford Bridge is a stone bridge of four segmental arches, splayed piers, and refuges at parapet level. The core is probably of the 17th century, but there has been much rebuilding, and the bridge has been widened on its north side.
