Description:Traffic lights with box sign above the red aspect

Illuminated box signs on Irish traffic lights, especially on Philips/Serco types, used to be mounted above the red aspect instead of below the green. Today these are more likely to be found below the green aspect or right next to it in the same way as UK versions.

Note the two signs, one on the lights and the other across the road, both look slightly different.

This set of lights now no longer exist as the old Philips types were recently replaced with new AluStars at this junction.
