Description:WestBound M42

Winter 1987. WestBound M42. At this time, the M5 had been widened from Jct 4A to 5 [that project included the southern arms of 4A]. The second widening project was underway between junction 5 to 6. The somewhat 'amusing' northern Jct 4A arms [necessitated by the abandonment of the M42 Northern Link] were included as part of the junction 4 to 4A widening, which started in 1988. Hence, in this photograph [if you are still with me] :- we have the blanked left side to the gantry. .....We didnt get fancy paint jobs on our vehicles in them days !!
