|Junctions related to the B9011|
The Findhorn Roundabout lies towards the eastern end of Forres and is where the towns A96 bypass crosses the B9011. Neither route is on its original line at this point, the roundabout having been built in a field with both roads rerouted to meet it. The A96, of course historically passed through the town, on the route now taken by the B9011, although the two met to the south west of the modern roundabout, with the connecting link also being a new road. The B9011 previously terminated at that junction, having come south from the village of Findhorn.
The roundabout is a standard 4 arm design, but is perhaps destined to a short life. The government plan to fully dual the A96 by the 2030s, but there is insufficient land available to widen the existing bypass, so a new route past Forres will be needed. It is likely that this will reduce the need for this roundabout, and a crossroads or even T junction may be installed in its place.
A new foot and cycle bridge has recently been installed across the A96 to the west of the roundabout, carrying the cycle route over the bypass. This passes close to the historic standing stone known as Suenos Stone.
