Fiveways Roundabout is a junction on the Nottingham Ring Road, the A6514. At this point, the dual carriagway ring road meets Edwards Lane, a busy suburban road, and originally another side road to the south west of the junction. This road now meets Edwards Lane before the roundabout. The junction has given its name to a Public House on the northeastern quadrant of the roundabout.
This junction is remarkably busy given that the side roads are not even A or B roads, this is may be due to Nottingham City Hospital being next to the junction. However, the junction was once to be even more important, as a bypass of the A60 at Arnold was projected to run west of the existing route, run along Edwards Lane (which is wide enough for 4 narrow lanes) and terminate in the suburb of Sherwood. This plan was cancelled along with other bold city projects in the early 1970s.
