The Flouch Inn Roundabout is a major junction north of Stocksbridge. The main route is the A616/A628 transpennine route from the M1 to Manchester via the Woodhead Pass. Other routes head off to Huddersfield to the north (A616), and Barnsley to the east (A628). The route to Barnsley also provides a route to the M1 north at junction 37, but this is not signed.
Previously, the junction was slightly to the north of the current location. The A628 was re-routed to the south of the old junction, then a crossroads, and the old road stubs (now dead ends), are served by a mini-roundabout. The Flouch Inn (after which the junction is named) is accessed from one of these stubs.
Under the proposals to extend the M67 eastwards to meet the M1, this junction would have been rebuilt as a large roundabout interchange.
