More weird streetlights in Redbridge Borough. This is the site of Gates Corner, looking north, with the post-1970s A406 passing beneath the A1199 without interchange.

A406 Southend Road

Looking east towards the site of the old A11/A406 junction, Gates Corner. Since the A406 was widened during the M11 works, the A11 High Road Woodford Green no longer has access and in recent years the latter has been renumbered A1199 (a duplicate of a road in Islington).

Looking east from footpath on southern side of the North Circular. Approach signage for Charlie Brown's Roundabout and the bridge carrying the A1199 (old A11) High Road Woodford Green (no access between the two roads). This was the site of Gates Corner junction till the late 1970s.

Old A11 was declassified to A1199 between Leytonstone and Woodford when the A12 "M11 Link" opened in 1999.
