Looking west from the A1307 towards the diverge between M11 and A14(N) traffic. M11/A14(N) can be seen crossing the A14/A428 up ahead. Streetlight replacment at the junction, as well roadworks up ahead on the A428(E) give a Sabristic feel to the whole scene!

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 09, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyThe A604 has now taken over as a result of the A14 south of Godmanchester taking the A1198 number. In between Huntingdon and Alconbury, the 'A604' tag should read 'A604(T)' - you can't really make it out, but the old 'A14(T)' has been 'whited out' on the map with the 'A604' overlaid. The old A604 west of Brampton is still single, but the 'new A14' dualling would have been in progress at this time - you can make out where one bit of bypass was being built at Molesworth - 'Due open Early 1992'

The contraflow near Haughley, 3 weeks before the new stretch of A14 opened. The cones were marking out new line markings, ready for conversion to an S2. Time will tell, if the LC survives.

Taken in June 2006 before work started on a new alignment to bypass these bends. I had to wait ages for gaps in the traffic in both directions to get this empty shot. It will be just as quiet today now that the new alignment is open to traffic.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 02, 2008 by TruveloThe new stretch of A14 past the Haughley bends opens on September 1 2008. This is w/bnd. at the start of the works, on August 10
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 31, 2008 by SteveA30This w/bnd side will become the local S2 and, the other side will be a cycleway/footpath.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 31, 2008 by SteveA30My idea for Catthorpe, making it into a four-way free-flowing interchange with the movements provided by the M69 left out. There is a link to the Catthrope-Swinford road to provide an exit for non-motorway traffic from the A14.
