Gallery:A2
Similar view, but from above! Taken from a flight to Bulgaria on 17th September 2008. The A2 can be seen heading west at the top of the picture, the A289 to the East is on the right and the A2, M2 heading East and South East respectively at the bottom. The CTRL can also be seen on the left.

This eastbound view, taken on 22nd June 2008, is just after the A2260 junction. The old A2 is to the left. The lights on the far left have now gone and work to remove the old carriageway here has begun in earnest.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 20, 2005 by MotorwayGuyHere's my second nomination - the other end of the A2! :-) The Dover end this time, and not my picture - it was submitted by Brenley Corner, but since it is summer and we're all heading off on our holidays, I thought a photo of Dover Docks, the ferries and not one but 2 major roads (A2 and A20) would be apt.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 18, 2005 by Gareth ThomasHere's my first nomination - it's the best one of the few photos I have, it marks the end of the A2, one of the key radials, it has plenty of things to look at, such as signs, people, pubs, and is just an interesting picture!

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 23, 2008 by fireflyIt could be a picture from 1965 not 2005. These two ancient RAC signs direct traffic at the former junction of the A28 from Margate and the A2 London-Dover road in Canterbury High Street. The A2 & A28 were diverted away from the High Street with the building of the Ring Road in the second half of the 60's. The picture was taken with my mobile hence its lack of clarity. The signs say A2 Dover to the left, and A2 Chatham to the right.

A picture I found in my house of the A2, taken I think sometime in the 90's.
