Only one way to go: To the A232 eastbound. At Croydon Tramlink crossover of the A232.

Croydon tramlink crosses the A232 at Addiscombe Road.
A232 on the rise-Shirley Road.jpg
Three lanes of the A232 climb towards the roundabout turn for Shirley. This is the very best bit of the A232 but it lasts for only a quarter of a mile.
A232 destinations.jpg
Plenty of forward destinations, near and far, on the A232 Shirley Road. Shame only one lane is for the continuance of the route.

A2022 junction with primary route A232.

The end of the locally known 'mad mile', now calmed by joint action by LBs Bromley and Croydon with a 40 m.p.h. limit

Spur Road (C) Ian Capper
So called because it was a spur off the 1920s Orpington Bypass into the centre of Orpington.
Queue of traffic on the A232 waiting for no apparent conflicting movements.JPG
Traffic waits on the A232 to cross the Croydon Tramlink. The junction also contains two side roads and often appears to halt traffic on the A232 with no conflicting movements elsewhere.

Station Road
Small businesse and a taxi office either side of Station Approach at the point where it meets Station Road.
A232 Shirley Road.JPG
The A232 sweeps downhill on a dual carriageway. But watch for police speed trap around the corner, a favourite spot.
Tramlink crosses the A232.JPG
One of the reasons for delays on the A232 east of Croydon. Three tram routes cross the road here.

Three lanes this side, two the other. The A232 on Shirley Road.
Short cycle lane designation on the A232.JPG
Half-hearted colouring of the tarmac on the A232 Shirley Road. This short section remains to this day, although faded. The cycle symbol appears on the road all the way along Shirley Road but this was the only coloured bit.
