Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 01, 2009 by TruveloApologies for the digital zoom, but this gives a good idea of the size of the Dartford Bridge. This is taken from Crystal Palace some 10+ miles away as the crow flies. At night when you cross over it and see the transmitter blinking you know you are not that far now.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsNon Motorway traffic is directed onto the A13 at J30, the start of the M25 proper.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsOnly 10 pairs of brackets on this gantry where traffic for A1306 splits from the M25. Before the completion of the new route between Lakeside and Dagenham this was the exit for the w/b A13. I know we are still technically on the A282 here but does anyone know of anywhere else on the network where the no overtaking road markings are used in this context on a D3 or D3M? Traffic to the right of the solid line has emerged from the right hand tunnel bore and is prevented from exiting at J31.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsApproaching J31 from the Dartford Tunnel, just before traffic from the twin bores merge. I think this gantry must hold the record for the greatest number of brackets anywhere in the UK. Including the '(M25(N))' doubles - which remind me of Excel formulas - I can count 11 sets! Taken 1st October 2008.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 09, 2008 by YorklettsTechnically an access to the A282 Dartford Tunnel but filed in M25 due to the contiguous junction numbering they share. This is the last N/B access slip directly south of the toll booths. These are to the right of this picture. The slip is a tight 270 degree turn but not usually a problem due to the frequent jams. I think from memory that the VMS has only one setting which is of course 'Q' ;-)

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 01, 2005 by IJP1Might as well give this a go. Looking north at the crossing from the south bank at early dusk, with the QE2 bridge lit and framed by the foreground bridge and line of toll booths.
