A strange ADS, trying to show that for the next exit you need a lane that hasn't opened yet.

A27 Broadmarsh 1967

An extract of the OS map from the mid / late 1960s showing the Havant bypass which predated the Farlington bypass. The original route of the A3(M) would have come between the two carriageways of the link road running towards the top of the screen. Apart from the A27 slip roads and the southbound carriageway of the link road, all these roads on this map have gone. Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 15, 2007 by SteveM

Optimistic Esso map

A scan of south Hampshire from a mid-1980s Esso Motor-Map No.2. If you look carefully you will notice the M27 has a junction 6 and the M275 has a Tipner junction, both of which are unbuilt, although the latter is likely to be built soon. Why didn't they go the whole hog and show Segensworth Services or an extension to the A3(M)? Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 07, 2007 by sotonsteve

The end of the bad high class bit

The A3(M) ends heres and in theory should now be a lower quality of road. Actually, it gets better. The rest of the A3 from here to the other side of Kingston is Motorway quality. apart from of course HIndhead. Ps, youll never miss that the motorway ends, the signs were massive
