Gallery:A30 Bodmin - Indian Queens Dualling
Going through Bodmin is ironically quicker than the bypass, on holiday days, and, brings me out to here. This useful diagram shows the current arrangements, except its now a dumbbell and the underpass is almost ready. This is under the bypass bridge, on the original A391, from the original A30.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 24, 2007 by SteveA30The last ever Bank Holiday queue for Innis Downs, in the distance. Opening is set for Mon June 25. The queue started at the east end of the bypass, just where I turned off for Bodmin luckily. Thats about 5-6 miles. 30 years of queues here since the bypass opened in 1977. Old A30 down on left. The old junction probably flowed better, as priority was for the A30 and there was no rbt. But, of course, Bodmin itself was the bottleneck.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 27, 2007 by SteveA30Half the bridge was blocked off to keep A30 traffic moving. If only half a dumbbell junction is in use, is it a dumb junction?

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 27, 2007 by SteveA30A new type of Express Services will be trialled here. Ample parking in the outside lanes. Users will form an orderly queue on the reservation.
