A380
I declare this bridge open.
Plaque marking the new GSJ on the A380. A useful link road between the A380 and A38 at the top of the hill.

Looking south from the new GSJ. Another garage used to occupy the space opposite and, both sides had Little Chefs in the 70's
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 08, 2008 by SteveA30The A380 Looking north. The original road is the uphill side but, further down becomes the downhill section. The A380 climb is known as Telegraph Hill, the A38, Haldon Hill. Old garage visible on right, indicating that the old road may have been at a higher elevation here.

Haldon-Telegraph Hill
Looking south from the Kennford GSJ. Old A38, now n/bnd A380 on right. N/bnd A38 in middle. S/bnd A38/A380 on left, splitting to 2 lanes for each. Old garage visible in background.

Turning round from the previous shot. Presumably, the A38 had priority and, the A380 traffic had to stop. In fact, this was the start/finish of the old A380, now the n/bnd side only. The slip in the foreground is the only access to the old A38 from the bottom of the hill.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 03, 2008 by SteveA30New flyover at Penn Inn roundabout This flyover is part of the Kingskerswell by-pass. Traffic between Torquay and Exeter will use the bridge to avoid the bottleneck of the Penn Inn roundabout below. Sadly, there is no longer a Penn Inn public house at the roundabout
Penn Inn roundabout A chance to check on progress in constructing the flyover that will cross this roundabout when the new link road is complete. Taken from the top deck of an X46 bus.
