1970s proposal to transform the Angel into a roundabout with the A501 passing beneath
Mid 1960s scheme to upgrade the Angel into a three level junction together with a link to the M11. This plan lasted only a couple of years before the route of the M11 extension shifted further south and was than abandoned altogether. The slip roads shown to the east of the roundabout would be on a double deck structure but are shown alongside each other on this map for clarity.
