Moor Street Station, Birmingham (C) Michael Westley - Geograph - 1591964.jpg
Moor Street Station, Birmingham (C) Michael Westley
Many will have difficulty picturing this :) Taken before the revamping of the city centre, there were once underpasses and subways connecting Moor Street Station with New Street Station.

Catch the 70s advert for milk on the billboard on the right - man with 'tache' and 'Nikka Pinta Milka Day' - who said theft was a modern phenomenon?

Moor Street was a grand station for all of us living on east of city (Acocks Green, Hall Green etc). After an evening's 'night on the town', if you missed the last train from New Street to Leamington, you could race on foot down the subways and reach Moor Street in time for the last train from there ! funny timetables in those days. Also, from High Street if you just missed a No 44 bus, you could run a quick race down to Moor Street and beyond to reach the SAME bus 3 stops further on - the buses had to go around 'the wrekin' and roundabouts to reach the top end of Digbeth. Happy, happy days.....
