Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 27, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyLooking west near Madingley, showing the A1303 junction off-slip crossing the A428 mainline. Just visible are blue signs westbound which presumably show 'end of dual carriageway ahead'. Both the A428 and A1303 were previously the A45 in ages past.

This used to be the A45 until the early '90s, as well as the entire dual carriageway to Felixstowe. Now the section east of M11 J14 (Girton, only a couple of mile east of here) is A14.

I thought the very definite horizontal would suit the site banner quite well.

In 1974, Bartholomew said the Western Bypass of Bedford would open in 1976. What Bedford Western Bypass??????? It ain't there! Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 01, 2005 by Brenley Corner

Looking west from the A1307 towards the diverge between M11 and A14(N) traffic. M11/A14(N) can be seen crossing the A14/A428 up ahead. Streetlight replacment at the junction, as well roadworks up ahead on the A428(E) give a Sabristic feel to the whole scene!
