All of the roads mentioned on this sign are exciting rides popular with motorcyclists, The A5004 used to be the A6 and goes over Long Hill. The A54 and A537 make up the Cat and Fiddle Road and the A53 goes past the Roaches.

The winding main road from Whaley Bridge to Buxton; the old road (now a track) is visible to the right of this picture. The white dot just perceptible above the right-hand end of the wood is a car further up the hill on the A5004 at approximately <a href='http://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/SK031755'>SK031755</a>.
