Approaching Weston Hills tunnel at dusk on Thursday 16th, the day Baldock Bypass opened. Truvelo suggested I should enter the picture, so here it is.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 01, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyLooking north at tunnel entrance, the size of the cut-and-cover tunnel can be seen.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Mar 25, 2006 by CJLooking south from Weston Hills bridge, the extent of the cutting is evident. In the distance a cyclist can be seen, bravely ignoring the 'No cyclists' restriction on this section of road.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 20, 2005 by M4SimonThe A505 is now dualled and GSJ'd. The freeflow to the airport is based on the official upgrade scheme but everything else is my own design. The M1 widening was a golden opportunity to make J10 into a freeflow like this instead of rebuilding the existing roundabout which is overwhelmed with traffic. Because the A1081 roundabout is close to J10 and Capability Green I've had to make the slips a weird shape to avoid weaving.

This was taken on Sunday 12th June 2005 from a speeding Kings Cross to Cambridge train doing something in the region of 70mph!
