The beginning of the Afsluitsdijk, heading out of Friesland into Holland.

The Afsluitdijk was not as spectacular as I imagined (although still a truly astonishing construction by any standards). Unfortunately some idiot put a grass verge on the right, so as completely to lose the effect!!

From my point of view (southbound), this was the end of the Afsluitdijk - though you have to give way to the boats!
