The new M9 spur overpass is currently being constructed. Once complete there will be no connection between the A8000 and the M9. This picture was taken from the temporary road connecting the two.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Nov 18, 2006 by ms90The road here is S2+1. 2 lanes towards Scotstoun, 1 towards Echline.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Nov 18, 2006 by ms90Works are progressing here to add extra lanes to the A90. Looking in the direction of this picture, the new M9 spur will take the main route off to the right, and the A90 traffic will leave to the left. There will be 3 lanes in each direction from this merge to the bridge. On the southbound A90 carriageway two lanes carry southbound traffic, and one lane northbound. On the northbound (towards the bridge) there is mostly construction site plus one northbound lane.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 30, 2006 by HagbardSorry about the motion blur. The sign says 'Motorway traffic only', although there is a house on the left just past it.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 30, 2006 by HagbardLooking North from Kirkliston. Roadworks have just started when this picture was taken but at the moment it consists of just a few cones. Check out the dodgy chopsticks symbol on the sign - does the central reservation really get wider?
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 26, 2006 by TruveloLooking south from the A90 towards Kirkliston. The NSL seems rather academic with traffic queueing for much of the day but its obvious why this stretch needs upgrading. The casual replacement of lighting results in a mixture of SON and SOX.
