A 2 million pound cycle track has been built (at the last minute) for the Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships being held at Nevis Range. As part of this the traffic lights at the junction of the A82 and A830 at Lochy Bridge have been replaced by a temporary mini-roundabout with a temporary Puffin crossing a short distance on the town side of the junction. Several bridges have been built as part of the track.

Traffic lights at A82 - A830 junction
Some years ago the roads either side of the traffic lights at the junction of the A82 and A830 were resurfaced with some sort of surface with presumably a better grips. This has been detiorating for some years and is now quite rough.
Is this normal for this type of surface?
Does it indicate poor design? poor workmanship? poor maintenance?

Short speed limit signs?
I was asking about the height of speed limit signs. The one in the centre of the dual carriageway always seem very low down to me and I can't see any obvious reason why it should be so low.
