Looking from the current road, where the upper of the two hairpins would have been, all that is left of the old road here is a dirt track as the new road has been built over it.

Looking northeast, from the current alignment, down to the bottom hairpin.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 01, 2008 by leopard680Looking south, this is one half of the old Devil's elbow double hairpin at Glenshee. I can't remember how we got onto it from the current alignment (which is to the right of the picture, above my dad's then car!). The second harpin would've been up at the top of the hill, bending round to the right.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 01, 2008 by leopard680This section had a narrow bridge with traffic lights before it was bypassed.
Springbank Terrace (also the A93) has an interesting asymmetry with the terrace on the north side (pictured) having large front gardens/parking areas, whereas the similar terrace on the south side of the street faces right onto the pavement. Part of Archibald Simpson's planned developments from ca. 1820s. The whole street is C-listed (downgraded from B): <a title='http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-20510-1-15-inclusive-nos-springbank-terrace-and' rel='nofollow' href='http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-20510-1-15-inclusive-nos-springbank-terrace-and'>Link</a><img style='padding-left:2px;' alt='External link' title='External link - shift click to open in new window' src='http://s1.geograph.org.uk/img/external.png' width='10' height='10'/> . This is right on the borderline between city centre and suburb and I've plumped for the latter for its geographical context.
