Towards Voe of Browland
Bend on the A971 The main road from Melby to Walls. A day of very low cloud over the moors.
Weisdale Burn at the A971 bridge
Old Voe Head bridge, Weisdale This bridge used to carry the main road from the Westside to Lerwick, but was rendered almost redundant with the realignment of the A970 around the Voe Head.
The three houses shown in the middle of the photo have been built in the last year or so (as at July 2008).

The A971 crosses the Loch of Brouster As it flows into Voe of Browland.
Bixter- the A971 passes alongside Effirth Voe Looking down from the B9071 across Effirth Voe, with the A971, heading for Walls and Sandness, running alongside the water and crossing the Burn of Twatt at Bridge of Twatt as it does so.
