Gallery:Advance Direction Sign
Southern bit of the A3(M) - well approaching it from the Chichester direction. I'm sure as recently as 1990, this access wasnt here. To go up the A3 from Chichester and Hayling Island you had to go through Horndean on B class roads. Same for coming from the north. Anyone remember this?

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 02, 2007 by AAndyLocal direction sign on A445 at Bubbenhall with crossroads signs in background on yellow backings - these have the non standard black lettering 'BEWARE RIGHT TURNING HGVs' to draw attention to the right turn which is used to a landfill site and is used by lorries to the site. A close up of one of these signs has been placed in the warning signs section of the gallery. May 3 2007

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 27, 2006 by DavidBrownTaken on the A38 just before it crosses the A30 Bodmin by-pass. The NSL sign ahead marks the end of the long Dobwalls to Bodmin 50 mph zone imposed for saftey reasons. The slip to the A30 westbound is behind us. At the roundabout ahead, left is just the off-slip for the A30 toward Bodmin, straight on is local roads and the A38 (now non-primary) is the right turn.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 13, 2008 by leekmanThe directional sign shows the layout of the Magic Roundabout the five painted mini-roundabouts arranged in circular fashion, making the whole a two-way roundabout. This view is from the west, looking down the (unclassified) Fleming Way.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 03, 2008 by TSNorthbound view on the A4177 (formerly A41 which has an identity crisis!) on the approach to Five Ways Island north west of Warwick. The A4177 goes off to the right whilst the former A41 continues north as the A4141. The LDS is visible in the distance. Warwickshire have resigned recently as most of the signs noticed in the area were fairly clean and had that newish look. I think the southbound confirmation sign behind me still showed A41 - I am still around this area so will take a pic if I remember. 291107

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 23, 2006 by andy31mA41/A4098 junction, Moxley. Sandwell Council invested in some really cr*p signmaking equipment in the 1970s and there are still plenty of these barely legible signs around, including a good set in Great Bridge itself.

The A30 was freeflow in both directions in pre M3 days but now naturally, it has lights. Lower and upper left w/bnd and, upper right e/bnd. These cause huge peak hour queues in all directions.
