From a trunk road to a track this is the old route of the A303 looking east from Andover to London .The old turning to Picket twenty would until 1969 be coming up on the left.

The old route of the A303 met the A342 at Weyhill near Andover on a T junction then a few yards to the right of the picture a roundabout was built in the late 70s .

Relief for Andover, the first major A303 bypass and also, part of Basingstoke. None of the A339 junctions were GSJ at this stage.
