About the cross the border from NI into the Republic on the A1/N1 border. The (learner) driver in front is about to cross the border - since (s)he had been carefully observing the annoying NI provisional restriction by sticking to 40mph, I'll assume the driver was in possession of two provisional licences, one for each juristiction. You can just make out the change in road markings and the 100km/h speed limit signs just across the border.
