B3082- avenue of beeches - Coppermine - 17426.jpg
B3082- avenue of beeches This is a lovely road, from Wimborne Minster to Blandford Forum, generally quicker than the A350 which runs more or less parallel a mile or two to the southwest. The line of beech trees runs for about 2 miles and leads to the northern entrance to the Kingston Lacy House estate. It is said that there were originally 365 trees on each side, though many of them didn't survive the great storm of 16 October 1987.
