Stony Lane, Axminster (C) David Smith A turning off the Lyme Road which gives a short cut to the north of the town and avoids the centre.
Bow Bridge over the River Axe near... (C) Roger Davies View looks eastwards across Bow Bridge towards Axminster. The River Axe is in flood following heavy July rain. The remains of a WW2 roadblock can be seen on the right of the bridge. A WW2 6 pounder gun emplacement is also visible on the far bank of the River Axe. Both features formed part of the Taunton Stop-line running between Taunton and Seaton built originally in 1940 due to the threat posed by a German invasion.
