Marlborough Road - junction with Windsor Road
A view of this difficult junction, from the opposite direction to this:- SU1682 : Marlborough Road - junction with Windsor Road. Today there is a mini-roundabout here. A traffic feature that Swindon is very addicted to, often when you least expect it. The van waiting to turn out of Windsor Road belonged to the well-known Empire Stores.

Marlborough Road - junction with Windsor Road
Marlborough Road is one of the main routes out of Swindon, as it connects the area known as Old Town to the route to the M4 motorway. The road on the right, Windsor Road, is the busy main road through the Lawn residential estate and comes out on the dual carriageway road, Queen's Drive. Right turns from Windsor Road into Marlborough Road were always difficult, but since this picture was taken in 1983, a mini-roundabout has been installed here. Note the Mini coming along Marlborough Road; a very popular car at the time. The view in the other direction:- SU1682 : Marlborough Road - junction with Windsor Road.
